BLM releases decision on EnCana proposal

MEEKER, CO — The Bureau of Land Management White River Field Office is granting rights-of-way for pipelines and a gas plant to be constructed by EnCana Oil and Gas (USA) Inc. Careful consideration has been given to public comments received on the project, and corrections have been incorporated into the Environmental Assessment that analyzed the potential impacts of the proposed project.

“The Meeker Pipeline and Gas Plant Project involves the construction and operation of a natural gas plant and buried pipelines ranging in size from 10- to 36-inch diameter,” White River Field Manager Kent Walter said. “The proposed route is located in an existing 93-mile long utility corridor.”

The pipeline corridor begins at EnCana’s Logan Wash Facility in T7S R97W S31 in Garfield County, Colorado, and runs through existing utility corridors to end at Dragon Station in T12S R25E S2 in Uintah County, Utah. The proposed gas plant is located on an industrial site, adjacent to the vacated American Soda facility.

The Decision Record will be available for public review at BLM’s White River Field Office for a 30-day period. The decision to grant this right-of-way may be appealed to the Interior Board of Land Appeals by any adversely affected party to the case in accordance with the regulations in Title 43 Code of Federal Regulations, Part 4.400. The appellant has the burden of showing that the decision is in error. If an appeal is taken, the Notice of Appeal must be filed with the BLM White River Field Office, Attn: Pipeline Decision Record, 73544 Hwy 64, Meeker, Colorado 81641 within 30 days from receipt of this decision. Receipt and consideration of comments by other means cannot be guaranteed by the BLM.
