BLM Implements Winter Restrictions on Wolford MountainKREMMLING - The Bureau of Land Management, Kremmling Field Office will implement winter travel restrictions according to the Wolford Travel Management Plan December 26, 2005. The restrictions will remain in place until April 30, 2006. These travel restrictions will help alleviate conflicts between vehicles and winter-stressed antelope, elk, and mule deer in the area north of Kremmling. The affected area includes public lands between Highway 40, Grand County Road 22 (Back Troublesome Road) and Grand County Road 25 (Antelope Pass Road). Maps showing open travel routes are available at information kiosks on County Road 224, near the dump, and County Road 26, off of Highway 40. All other travel routes and areas on BLM lands are closed to all motorized use at this time. Snowmobiles are permitted within the restricted area only are routes marked with orange diamonds. Horse, foot, and ski travel typically will be permitted throughout the area during winter travel restrictions, but be sure to check current restrictions prior to each visit. Winter conditions may cause the Field Manager to change or alter restrictions in the Wolford area so check often for restriction updates. For further information regarding the Wolford Mountain area travel restrictions, please visit or call the Kremmling Field Office, 2103 E. Park Ave., 970-724-3000. -BLM- |
