KREMMLING - The Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) Kremmling Field Office has issued a Notice of Exchange Proposal for the Blue Valley Land Exchange. The BLM will host an open house to explain the exchange Thursday, August 4th from 4:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at the CSU Extension Hall on the Grand County Fairgrounds in Kremmling, CO. BLM staff members will be available to address concerns, answer questions, and accept written comments regarding the land exchange. Maps of the proposed area, as well as copies of the Notice and profiles of the exchange will be available. Comments on the exchange can be emailed to cobvexch@blm.gov. or sent to 2103 East Park Ave., PO Box 68, Kremmling, CO 80459. A field trip of some of the parcels involved in the exchange will begin at 9:00a.m. on Friday, August 5, at the BLM Kremmling Field Office. Please call 970-724-3000 if you plan to attend the tour so that transportation accommodations can be made. The Blue Valley Land Exchange is a single transaction between the BLM and the Blue Valley Ranch. It will entail exchanging 1,773 acres of Federal land for 2,016 acres of non-Federal land. All the land proposed for exchange is in Grand and Summit Counties. The exchange as proposed would eliminate scattered and isolated parcels, some which have no public access; and also help alleviate on-going trespass problems on some parcels. For more information about the open house, field trip or the Blue Valley Land Exchange, please call Dennis Gale, Assistant Field Manager, 970-724-3005.
