McInnis Canyons NCA Advisory Council to meet

 GRAND JUNCTION, CO—The McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area Advisory Council will hold its first bimonthly meeting of 2005 at 3 p.m., on Wed., Feb. 2, at the Mesa County Administration Bldg., 544 Rood Ave., Grand Junction.

 “This Advisory Council played a key role in assisting the Bureau of Land Management throughout the development of the area’s recently issued Proposed Resource Management Plan,” McInnis Canyons NCA Manager Paul Peck said.  “Council members will continue to provide advice and recommendations to the Secretary of the Interior and BLM on implementing the RMP and effectively managing the area’s resources for the use and enjoyment of future generations.”

 Agenda topics for the February 2 meeting include:

·             Election of Advisory Council officers

·             Overview of proposed Friends Group

·             Implementing the RMP

·             2005 project updates

 McInnis Canyons NCA Advisory Council meetings have also been scheduled for April 6 and June 1, same location and time.  All meetings are open to the public.  For additional information, please contact Paul Peck at (970) 244-3049.
