For Immediate Release July 13, 2004 Cow Creek Road closed for bridge constructionThe Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Glenwood Springs Field Office will be completing needed road repairs and improvements on the Cow Creek Road from Rio Blanco County Road 5 to one mile south of Piceance Creek. Construction will commence on July 15 and is expected to take 30 days to complete. Drivers are asked to use Sprague Gulch Road to Divide Road as an alternate Public Access route. The Cow Creek Road is planned to be reopened prior to big game hunting season. Construction will include the placing of a prefabricated steel bridge over Piceance Creek and construction of a retaining wall to stop erosion of the fill slope along Cow Creek.
