BLM seasonal road closures in effect Dec. 1

GRAND JUNCTION—The Bureau of Land Management Grand Junction Field Office will implement seasonal road closures from Dec. 1 through May 1. The closed areas may be marked with signs and gates. The BLM closes roads and access routes for a variety of reasons, ranging from protecting critical habitat to protecting other natural resources in sensitive areas.

Some BLM roads in the Grand Mesa Slopes area, including the Lands End Road, and access roads off 16 Road in the Book Cliffs will be closed to protect wildlife. The Coal Canyon road will be closed through May 30 in the Little Book Cliffs Wild Horse Area to protect wild horse habitat.
