For Immediate Release: December 8 , 2004 BLM and Forest Service fuelwood permits availableMONTROSE, CO—The Bureau of Land Management and National Forest Service, Ouray Ranger District have non-commercial personal use fuelwood permits available for purchase at the BLM Uncompahgre Field Office, 2505 S. Townsend Ave., in Montrose. Permits are required and available during business hours, 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Fuelwood permits are valid through Dec. 31, 2004. Non-commercial fuelwood permits are for personal use only and the fuelwood cannot be resold. Rules and regulations apply for cutting and collecting firewood under these required permits. Fuelwood permits are $10 per cord with a 2-cord ($20) minimum. A maximum of ten cords per household per year may be harvested. Permits expire Dec. 31, 2004.
