Southwest RAC to meet Dec. 12 in Ridgway to discuss energy, skiing

The Bureau of Land Management's Southwest Resource Advisory Council (RAC) will meet Dec. 12 at Ridgway State Park Headquarters, 28555 U.S. Hwy. 550, Ridgway.

The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. and is scheduled to adjourn at 4:30 p.m. The meeting is open to the public, with two public comment periods scheduled for 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Agenda items include a panel discussion on energy development and local communities, as well as an update on the proposed Silverton ski area.

The RAC is comprised of 15 members from a variety of backgrounds appointed by the Secretary of the Interior to make recommendations to the BLM on public land issues.
