BLM Colorado State Director Accepts New Position

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has announced that Ann Morgan, Colorado State Director, will begin a new assignment at the University of Colorado School of Law Natural Resources Law Center in Boulder, Colorado, effective Monday, July 29. Morgan will also be working with the U.S. Institute for Environmental Conflict Resolution on special projects.

"I am very excited about the chance to serve on the faculty of such a wonderful institution as the University of Colorado School of Law. They are doing a lot of work in the public lands arena exploring the policy and legal issues surrounding energy development, water, community based stewardship, and other natural resource issues." said Morgan.

Morgan came to Colorado as State Director in October 1997 overseeing the management of 8.4 million acres of public lands and 27 million acres of mineral estate with a focus on community based partnerships, multiple use management, recreation, environmental protection, and the challenges of a growing urban interface.

The previous three years she spent as BLM's State Director in Nevada. Before embarking on her BLM career, Morgan was manager of the Washington State Department of Natural Resources Division of Aquatic Lands.
