Gabe Garcia has been named manager of the Bureau of Land Management's (BLM) Bakersfield Field Office. He has served as the assistant field manager for the Bakersfield Field Office Minerals Division since September 2007.

Trail Reopening in Headwaters Forest Reserve

The Little South Fork Elk River Trail in the Headwaters Forest Reserve has been reopened following a temporary closure for an erosion control project. Officials at the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) said the trail is dry and in great condition.
