Wild Horse & Burro Program - Mustang Makeovers 2009 

California hosted two national events to bring attention to BLM's wild Horse and burro program.  The Extreme Mustang Trail Challenge was held May 15-17 in Norco, Calif.  The Extreme Mustang Makeover was held during the Western States Horse Expo the weekend of June 12-14 in Sacramento.  At each event, trainers and mustangs showed  the transformation from wild to willing as they competed for over #$12,000 in prize money.  After the competition, the trained horses were offered for adoption.
