Centennial Herd Management Area (CA-654)

LOCATION:   The Centennial Herd Management Area is located in Kern County, CA approximately 10 miles north of Ridgecrest, CA.
 
ACREAGE:     319,000 acres are managed for wild horses

TOPOGRAPHY/VEGATATION:      
 
WILDLIFE:
 
HERD SIZE:    168 head
 
HORSE COLORS:      Gray, brown and bay
 
SIZE OF HORSES:     14-16 hands and 900-1100 pounds
 
HISTORY:       This area contains horses thought to be from ranching stock.
