Inyo Laphamia (Perityle inyoensis ) Asteraceae BLM Photograph
Description: Perennial sub-shrub, 4 3/4 - 10 inches (12-25cm) tall. Stems many, with soft hairs. Leaves ovate to triangular to round, with a lobed and serrated edge, a soft and hairy surface, and 3/8 - 3/4 inch (1-2cm) long. Inflorescence contains 1-3 discoid heads, with stems 3/8 - 1 1/2 inch (1-4cm) long, and bell-shaped bracts. Corollas are 3/16 inch (4-5mm) long. Each head contains 35-60 disk flowers, with yellow, 4-lobed corollas, 3/16 inch (4-5mm) long. Fruit is an achene, 1/8 inch (3-3.5mm) long. Distribution: Habitat: Dry, rocky slopes.
