Description: Perennial, rhizomatous herb. Stems 4 - 12 inches (10-30cm) long, and lie flat along the ground. Leaves 3/8 inch (<10mm) long, triangular to ovate, with hairs dense, long, and wavy on lower surface. Inflorescence is a head, 3/8 - 3/4 inch (10-20mm) wide. Petals are lavender to pale rose, with the upper lip 2-lobed, and the lower lip 3-lobed. Distribution: Habitat: Subalpine forests. Granitic. Elevation 8000 - 11,200 feet.
