Description: Perennial herb. Leaves growing from a stem, 5/8 - 1 3/8 inches (15-35) long, densely white and wooly below, grayish with densely matted hairs above, and slightly wavy edge. Inflorescence is slender and with-out hairs. Involucres (group of bracts) 5-10 per node, 3/16 - 1/4 inches (4-6mm) long. Perianth is white and slightly hairy, 1/8 inch (3-4mm) long. Distribution: Habitat: Dry, sandy slopes. Chaparral, cismontane woodland, valley and foothill grassland. Flowering Period: Blooms June - November.
