Description: Annual herb with stems less than 8 inches (2dm) long. Leaves linear to spear-shaped, 3/4 - 2 inches (2-5cm) long, with leaf stems less than 3/4 inches (2cm) long. The flower contains 4 green to magenta sepals, and pink petals, 5/8 - 1 inch (1.5-2.5cm) long, with 3 lobes, the middle lobe longer and narrower. The fruit is a many-seeded capsule, 1/16 inch (.5-2mm) long. Distribution: Habitat: Openings in woodland, chaparral. Elevation 688 - 3200 feet. Flowering Period: Blooms April - May.
