Bird Watching
Among other wildlife, a wide variety of birds find their way to these public lands, either making their homes here or just migrating through. Some pockets of BLM-California land have become valuable links in bird migration routes, as more and more open land is covered by new development. A number of cooperating partners work with the BLM to help preserve this valuable habitat. One result: bird watching (or birding) on public lands managed by BLM-California can be a very rewarding experience. Here are some lists of birds spotted on various areas of public land managed by the Bureau of Land Management's California field offices:
And please remember: Birds are among the most visible wildlife at many BLM-California locations. Some of the most commonly-seen (or sometimes rare) birds are listed under "Animals you may see here" at Watchable Wildlife sites. |
