Solar Power Tower

Power tower technology uses a large field of mirrors to track and reflect sunlight onto a receiver at the top of a tower (300+ feet in height) located in the center of the field.  The concentrated sunlight heats a fluid to generate steam, which rotates a turbine that activates a generator, producing electricity.  Learn more from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory
