A seagull flies over the California Coastal National Monument which stretches along the entire coast of California and extends 12 miles into the Pacific Ocean.  The Monument includes 20,000 rocks, islands, pinnacles and reefs.

Mount Signal Solar Farm (CACA 52325)


Toward a safe, clean energy future:  The proposed Mount Signal Solar Farm has yet to begin the environmental review process.  The project is proposed for private agricultural land.

Proposed Location: Imperial Valley, southwest of El Centro near the Mexican border

Electricity Production Capacity: Up to 600 megawatts

Company: A subsidiary of 8 Minute Energy Renewables, LLC

Acreage: A proposed 5.5 mile long 120 foot wide corridor for a transmission line on BLM land (85 acres) 

Status: Environmental review pending 

Public Comment: An opportunity for public comment will follow publication of the environmental analysis

Electrictrical Transmission Connection: 230 kV line that would cross BLM land and interconnect with the Imperial Valley Substation
