A seagull flies over the California Coastal National Monument which stretches along the entire coast of California and extends 12 miles into the Pacific Ocean.  The Monument includes 20,000 rocks, islands, pinnacles and reefs.

  • The Daggett Ridge Wind Energy project (DRWEP), proposed by Daggett Ridge Wind Farm, LLC, would be located 11 miles southeast of Barstow and five miles southwest of Daggett in San Bernardino County.
  • The proposed project is a wind-powered, electrical-generating facility designed to generate 82.5 megawatts of renewable power. 
  • The project’s total footprint covers about 1,576 acres of BLM-managed public land and 380 acres of private land. 
  • DRWEP would be comprised of 33 GE, or similar, 2.5-megawatt wind turbine generators, a project substation, an overhead transmission line, and an interconnection to the existing Southern California Edison 115-kilovolt transmission line, along with other structures.
  • Construction of the DRWEP would take nine to 11 months.
