A seagull flies over the California Coastal National Monument which stretches along the entire coast of California and extends 12 miles into the Pacific Ocean.  The Monument includes 20,000 rocks, islands, pinnacles and reefs.

A Gateway community event focused on National Landscape Conservation Sytem (NLCS) and Monument's 10th Birthday.   Local natural resource tours, lighthouse and historic downtown tours. Partnerships recognition, photographer presentation, Huell Howser film on the monument, presented at the historic Arena Theater.  BLM photographer Bob Wick Photo exhibit opening at Point Arena Lighthouse.  Partners are Point Arena Lighthouse Keepers, Mendocino Coast Audubon Society, City of Point Arena, CA State Parks, Moat Creek Managing Agency, Redwood Coast Chamber of Commerce, Point Arena Merchants Association.
