Chicago Mercury - Abandoned Mine Lands Project

Chicago Mine - photo 1 - overview
Main adit portal, retort and mill site.  The adit portal is just left of the cabin.  The site is adjacent to and eroding into Dry Creek, an ephemeral stream.  The mine waste contains mercury tailings from the brick retort which is largely intact.
