Project Description
Alabama Hills is a heavily used recreation site on BLM managed land in close proximity to the city of Bishop, CA. Used mainly by campers and for day-use recreation, the area contains a number of old, open and potentially hazardous mine workings mostly within easy access from road, trail or cross-country hike.
Previous/Existing Assessments
The locations and condition of mine features were compiled by staff of the Bishop Field Office in the 1990's and reconfirmed during a visit to site in 2001.
