Sharon, a resident of Palm springs since 1969, represents the city on the advisory committee.  Sharon has a long history of community service having served on the Coachella Valley Association of Governments, including a term as the chairperson; a board member of Sunline Public Transit; the Palm Springs Architectual Advisory Committee; Palm springs Planning Commission; and Palm Springs City Council, serving as mayor pro tem for Mayor Sonny Bono in 1988-90.

Beyond service to the city, she has sat as a representative on other boards and commissions including BLM's Desert District Advisory Council, Coachella Valley Mountains Conservancy, Riverside County Flood Control Commission, Palm Springs International Film Festival, Village Center for the Arts, and the Palm Springs Desert Museum.

She has a bachelor of arts degree in English literature from George Washington University and post-baccalaureate extension studies in law, public relations and computer science. 

Sharon is a freelance writer specializing in travel and food and has been published in Palm Springs Life and Next magazines.  She has also contributed to the Los Angeles Times and Press-Enterprise newspapers.  Previously, Sharon was the director of development for the Palm Springs Desert Mueum, and co-publisher, owner and editor of The Public Record, a business and legal newspaper.
