Northwest California Advisory Council

Duane "Tony" Shaw

Public-at-large

Term Expires:  09/19/2011

Mr. Shaw holds a bachelor's degree in environmental studies and urban planning from Sonoma State University.  He currently coordinates public affairs and resource development activities for a major northern California construction company.  He has worked in the planning departments for two northern California counties

The candidate’s work experience has given him an intimate understanding of the functional relationships of government and private industry. His work as a liaison between county governments and business has provided practical experience at working with disparate interests to find solutions to issues involving management of natural resources.  This level of understanding would be beneficial to the RAC and to the BLM northwest California field offices, all of which collaborate closely with public and private partners.  He is a public land user and knows well the RAC’s area of jurisdiction.
