A seagull flies over the California Coastal National Monument which stretches along the entire coast of California and extends 12 miles into the Pacific Ocean.  The Monument includes 20,000 rocks, islands, pinnacles and reefs.

Nancy Huffman

Nancy Huffman and her family have farmed in the Tulelake area of Modoc County for more than 50 years and she represents the public-at-large on the council.  As a former county supervisor, Ms. Huffman is well respected for her strong representation of county interests.  She has valuable insight in natural resource issues including water use, livestock grazing and public land recreation.  She has been is a champion of close federal-local cooperation and helped found the Modoc County Land Use Commission.  She also represents Modoc County on the Forest Service Interdisciplinary Team for the Sierra Nevada Framework and served on two, council subcommittees assisting BLM in the development of a management plan for the Black Rock Desert-High Rock Canyon Emigrant Trails National Conservation Area.
