Henricus Jansen is another charter member of the council and is a professor in rangeland management at California State University, Chico. He played a leadership role in the development of the Healthy Land Standards and Livestock Grazing Guidelines and related land use guidance for off-highway vehicles. He has most recently been working with BLM conducting studies on the use of fire and other techniques to control invasive Medusahead grasses on public lands. Dr. Jansen received his Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry and Resource Management, his Masters degree in Natural Resources Management and his PhD is Wilderness Resources Management. He is an accomplished author of numerous papers, reports and proposals on rangeland management and is the past president of the California Section for the Society for Range Management.
