A seagull flies over the California Coastal National Monument which stretches along the entire coast of California and extends 12 miles into the Pacific Ocean.  The Monument includes 20,000 rocks, islands, pinnacles and reefs.

Ronald Vernon Johnston

Ronald Vernon Johnston is the president of Financial Products Marketing Company in San Diego and a property owner in Twentynine Palms and Yucca Valley.  He represents the public-at-large on the council. 

Mr. Johnston is a former nominee for the California State Assembly and former chair of community associations, park and recreation councils and planning boards.  He is familiar with land management issues and challenges in southern California including water, land use, habitat preservation and species protection. 

Ron holds bachelor's and master's degrees in business administration and certification from the New York Institute of Finance.  Mr. Johnston resides in San Diego.
