Randy P. Banis

Randy Banis, a resident of Leona Valley, represents the public-at-large on the council.  He is the founder and owner of a multi-media and internet development firm and is the editor of an online resource for backcountry travel in Death Valley and the Mojave Desert.

Mr. Banis has extensive experience in the California Desert District.  He has been a member of Western Mojave Plan and Northern and Eastern Mojave Plan route survey teams; a member of the ciitizen steering committee for the BLM Ridgecrest Field Office; nad is a member and secretary of the Dumont Dunes Technical Review Team for the BLM Barstow Field Office.

Mr. Banis is a life member of the Death Valley 49ers and Death Valley Natural History Association.  He is a past-president and member of the Southern California Land Rover Club, and active member of the Friends of Jawbone, Leona Valley Improvement Association and Historical Society of the Upper Mojave Desert. 

He has a bachelor's degree in political science/public administration from UCLA.
