Jessica Reilly represents Renewable Energy Industry interests on the council. A resident of San Francisco, Ms. Reilly’s four years of professional experience supporting Mojave Desert development and endangered species cataloging and monitoring throughout all the Desert Wildlife Management Areas in the California Desert District gives her unique insight into district challenges. Ms. Reilly has led and coordinated biology and construction crews of 2 to 40 people for effective environmental compliance monitoring for the world’s largest thermal solar development, the BroughtSource Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating System. She has supported the long-term conservation efforts of the desert tortoise with applied field experience: 3,000 hours for all desert tortoise-related activities and walked more than 1,700 kilometers conducting surveys. Her peers have stated that one season she might be assessing the impacts of alternative energy development in the Mojave while camping throughout the desert, and the next season could find her consulting to the Mexico Secretary of Tourism on ways to sustainably develop the country’s most important natural and cultural travel destinations. Obviously, the Desert Advisory Council benefits greatly from such an unusually talented, energetic, forward-thinking council member.
