Francis A. Muth, Ph.D.

Francis A. Muth, Ph.D., represents wildlife on the council and is a resident of Palm Desert.  Dr. Muth is the director of the Philip L. Boyd Deep Canyon Desert Research Center located in Palm Desert and has held that position for over 30 years.  His tenure with the research center has enabled him to work closely with BLM field managers on public land issues throughout the California Desert District area.  He serves on the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains National Monument Advisory Council as well as the Coachella Valley Mountains Conservancy.  His tremendous professional experience and long history of working alongside the BLM is a valuable resource to the council.
