Don Maben represents the Second District on the Kern County Board of Supervisors and serves as an elected official on the council representing county government. The Second District encompasses the high desert areas in eastern Kern County. He was elected to office in November 2002 and his jurisdiction includes the commercial operations of grazing and mining. Supervisor Maben is a long time resident of the high desert region with extensive knowledge of BLM, the California Desert District and the council's area of jurisdiction gained through his involvement with the Desert Managers Group, Southwest Defense Alliance, Friends of Jawbone, Quad State County Coalition and the Mojave Mountain Desert Resource Conservation and Development Area.
Supervisor Maben holds a bachelor of science degree in political science from California State University, Los Angeles. Supervisor Maben lives in Tehachapi.
