Don Houston, Jr. is a natural resources and land planning team leader in the environmental program division of the Southern California Gas Company. A Los Angeles resident, Mr. Houston assures, in coordination with the BLM, implementation of the terms and conditions of the Biological Opinion for Ongoing Maintenance Activities on Southern California Gas Company’s Pipeline System in the Southern California Deserts. He knows government agencies well as he negotiates permits, agreements, authorizations, and approvals with the BLM, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Army Corps of Engineers, California State Lands Commission, California Department of Fish and Game, and the regional water quality control boards. He likes to camp, hike and photograph the desert and even conducts an annual week-long spring desert wildflower photo tour.
