James Kenney resides in Ridgecrest and is a retired business owner and part-time counselor aide at Cerro Coso Community College, where he also taught classes and served on hiring and employee union committees. He serves on the Desert Advisory Council’s (DAC) WEMO Subgroup, is the tour coordinator and a past member of the board of directors of the Historical Society of the Upper Mojave Desert, and is treasurer and board member of the Gear Grinders 4WD Club. Mr.Kenney is also a member of the Ridgecrest Public Lands Round Table, a citizen's group that works with the Ridgecrest BLM Field Office, and maintains the group's membership and contact list.  As an actual resident of the Desert District, Mr. Kenney well represents the communities that are most greatly impacted by the decisions and policies of the BLM.  As a member of the DAC’s West Mojave Plan Subgroup, he has attained a high level of understanding of the many nuances of BLM’s planning process. Mr Kenney was recently appointed to the DAC's Connecting People to the Desert Subgroup.
