Ray Watson

Kern County Board of Supervisors, District 4

Ray Watson is Kern County supervisor representing the 4th District.  He was appointed to represent the Kern County Board of Supervisors on the monument committee.  Elected to the board in November 2002, Supervisor Watson has a long and distinquished history of community service having served as president of the Greater Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce, president of the Downtown business Association, president of Rotary Club of Bakersfield, Kern Medical Center Blue Ribbon Committee, Bakersfield College Foundation, Memorial Hospital Foundation Board, chairman of the United Way of Bakersfield and Kern View Foundation, to name of few. 

Ray obtained his bachelor's degree in accounting from University of Southern California and is a Certified Public Accontant.  He had a long, illustrous career in the television industry eventually becoming a vice president and general manager of television stations in Denver, San Diego and Bakersfield.  He was named Broadcaster of the Year in 2000 and awarded the John Brock Annual Award for Community Service by the California State University, Bakersfield School of Business and Public Administration in 1999.
