A seagull flies over the California Coastal National Monument which stretches along the entire coast of California and extends 12 miles into the Pacific Ocean.  The Monument includes 20,000 rocks, islands, pinnacles and reefs.

Michael Khus-Zarate

Carrizo Plain Native American Advisory Council

As an active member and representative of the Coastal Branch of the Chumash Nation, Mr. Khus-zarate continues to be an advocate for cultural resource conservation in California and represents the Carizo Plain Native American Advisory Council. He has also been involved with a broad range of work activities, community service, educational pursuits and other social endeavors that would benefit the committee.  Michael has served on the Carrizo Plain Advisory Committee since 2002.

Mr. Khus-zarate has and bachelor's degree in political science and a master's in education.  He is a teacher and lives in Fresno.
