A seagull flies over the California Coastal National Monument which stretches along the entire coast of California and extends 12 miles into the Pacific Ocean.  The Monument includes 20,000 rocks, islands, pinnacles and reefs.

Sally Miller

Sally Miller, Senior Conservation Representative for the Wilderness Society, lives in Lee Vining. She started her conservation career in 1984 simultaneously as a volunteer with the local Sierra Club and an intern for the Mono Lake Committee. After working many years on the successful effort to protect Mono Lake, she went to work for The Wilderness Society, where she has been for the past 11 years.  Sally has been involved in numerous collaborative groups involving public lands. She recently finished 16 years of service on the Mono County Planning Commission.

She has a bachelor’s degree in Botany from the University of California, Berkeley.
