BLM Extends Nomination Deadline for Northern Calif. Advisory Council
The U. S. Bureau of Land Management has extended the nomination deadline for membership on the Northern California Advisory Council, a citizen group that advises the agency on management of public lands. There are 15 vacancies for terms of one, two and three years.
Seats are open in the following membership categories:
Nominations and support letters must be sent to Jeff Fontana, Bureau of Land Management, 2950 Riverside Dr., Susanville, CA 96130, attention: RAC Nominations. Documents can be emailed to email@example.com. Nominations will be accepted up to 30 days from the date of publishing.
Nomination forms and information about the council are available online at http://www.blm.gov/ca/st/en/info/rac/ncrac.html or by contacting Fontana at (530) 252-5332.
Individuals may nominate themselves or others. Nominees should demonstrate a commitment to collaborative decision making on natural resource issues and knowledge of the RAC's geographic area of interest, which is northern California and far northwest Nevada. Nominations must include letters of support.
The RAC works closely with BLM managers in Alturas, Arcata, Cedarville, Redding and Susanville, providing guidance on the full range of the BLM's responsibilities.
The United States secretary of the interior makes appointments to the 15-member council.
