BLM Announces Connecting People to the Desert Subgroup Meeting

The Connecting People to the Desert Subgroup to the Desert Advisory Council (DAC) has scheduled a public meeting for July 8, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the BLM Barstow Field Office located at 2601 Barstow Rd., Barstow, CA 92311

The focus of the subgroup is to make recommendations on how to connect youth and adults with the spectacular resources of the California Desert by identifying education and interpretation opportunities in the sciences, recreation, the arts, economics and history related to the Bureau of Land Management's current portfolio of multiple-use land designations.

Subgroups of the California Desert Advisory Council provide advice and recommendations to the BLM through the Desert Advisory Council. Selection and appointment of subgroup members is by the DAC with the concurrence of the designated federal official. Further information about the subgroup can be found at:
