Delays, Closures will Affect Butte County Roads during Improvement Projects


Road improvement and bridge replacement projects on Bureau of Land Management public lands in Butte County will result in temporary road closures and travel delays on several roads beginning this month and continuing into winter.

Visitors planning to travel on Doe Mill road in Butte County will be subject to delays and closures as construction gets underway on road improvements and a bridge replacement project beginning Monday August 11.

Temporary closures will begin Monday, Aug. 18 and will continue until October. The road, also known as Ponderosa Way, will be closed from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday during construction. The road will be open on weekends.

In addition, a temporary closure will be in place at the Butte Creek Bridge off of Doe Mill Road from August 18 until December during construction of a new bridge.  Highway 32 and Skyway Road can be used to access the east and west side of the Butte Creek Bridge off of Doe Mill Road.

The West Branch Feather River Bridge on Jordan Hill Road approximately two miles northeast of Skyway Road will also beclosed to all traffic from mid-August to December.
