Media Advisory: BLM Fire Crews to Burn Piles at Shasta Dam Campground


Fire crews from the Bureau of Land Management plan to burn piles of brush and limbs Tuesday, April 22 through Thursday, April 24, at the Shasta Dam Campground near the base of the dam.

Burning will be done only if weather and fuel conditions allow for safe and successful burning.

Crews plan to burn in three-acre areas each day. Smoke will be visible from the Shasta Dam Visitor Center and from the community of Keswick.

The piles were created in BLM projects to reduce wildfire danger and improve forest health.
