MEDIA ADVISORY: Discover the Coast at Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History Identification Day
When: Saturday: April 26, 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
Where: The Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History, 165 Forest Ave., Pacific Grove.
Who: 200 to 300 youth, scientists, volunteers, Bureau of Land Management California State Director Jim Kenna (media availability with Kenna at 11 a.m.).
What: People from the community will be able to come to the Museum, get interested in nature and the environment, and learn something new - whether it be about something they found in their backyard or something they picked up at the Museum or the nearby beaches that day. Scientists will help visitors at the Museum identify and learn about the natural objects they bring in.
Identification themed crafts and activities will be held. The Museum also will set up a mystery objects table where people who did not bring an item into the Museum can pick something and take it to an expert to have it identified.
The Museum also serves as a Gateway to the BLM's California Coastal National Monument and staff will be on hand to help visitors Discover the Coast at Pacific Grove.
