Experimental Stewardship Steering Committee Meets April 24 in Cedarville

The Modoc-Washoe Experimental Stewardship Steering Committee will discuss various natural resource management topics in a meeting Thursday, April 24, at 9 a.m., at the Bureau of Land Management Surprise Field Office, 602 Cressler St., Cedarville.

Items on the morning agenda include reports from the BLM and Modoc National Forest, status updates from member agencies and organizations, and a discussion about organizational matters.

Starting at 1 p.m., the committee will hear an update on fuels reduction projects in the Buffalo-Skedaddle sage grouse management area in Lassen, Modoc and Washoe counties, receive information on monitoring work in the Forest Service Warner Mountain Ranger District, and hear a status report on the BLM's environmental impact statement on sage grouse conservation.

The committee will also discuss the Lassen 15 project and a BLM environmental assessment on management of livestock and wild horses during drought.
