BLM Plans Pile Burning Projects in Weaverville Community Forest

Crews from the Bureau of Land Management plan to burn piles of limbs and brush in the Weaverville Community Forest, beginning Wednesday, April 3, and continuing through Sunday, April 7.

The project, to run from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day, will be within a 15-acre area about a mile southwest of Weaverville. Smoke will be visible from the community.

The debris piles were created in project work to reduce wildfire risks and improve forest health.

Piles will be ignited only if weather allows for safe and successful burning.
