Cow Mountain Closed Due to Scotts Fire |

The Bureau of Land Management has temporarily closed Cow Mountain to public access due to ongoing road closures and safety concerns from the Scotts Fire. This closure includes both the South Cow Mountain Off-Highway Vehicle Area and the North Cow Mountain Recreation Area, popular recreation areas east of Ukiah managed by the BLM’s Ukiah Field Office. Included in this closure are the Glen Eden Trail, Valley View Trail, Mendo-Rock Road (County Road 203C) at Mill Creek Road and Mendo Lake Road at both Mill Creek Road and Scotts Creek. Updated information on the Scotts Fire can be located at the CalFire website: http://cdfdata.fire.ca.gov/incidents/incidents_current The fire, which started Friday, has burned 4,618 acres and is 15 percent contained.
