BLM Hosts Additional Bodie Hills Vegetation Restoration Public Field Trip |
||||||
|
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Bishop Field Office will host a public field trip to the Green Creek area near Bridgeport for an overview of the Bodie Hills vegetation conditions and to view examples of treatments proposed in the Bodie Hills Upland Vegetation Restoration Project. The field trip is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 1, weather depending. If an early winter storm forces cancellation on Nov. 1, an alternate date of Nov. 8 has also been scheduled. The field trip will begin at 9 a.m. at the Bridgeport Ranger Station on Highway 395 in Bridgeport. The proposed project is a set of treatments targeting specific vegetation conditions across the Bodie Hills designed to protect and enhance the ecological condition of the area. The field trip is a final opportunity for those who are interested or have not been able to attend one of the previous more extensive field trips offered last summer and fall. If you are interested in attending, please contact Heather Stone, interagency vegetation management project leader, at (760) 873-2561 or by email at hestone@fs.fed.us for more information. This notice and the project proposal are also posted on the Bishop BLM web site (www.blm.gov/ca/bishop). |
