BLM California State Director Plans Eastern Sierra Visit
Eastern Sierra residents will have an opportunity to meet Jim Kenna, Bureau of Land Management California State Director, during a visit to help celebrate Mule Days this week.
He will meet with residents of the Mono County area from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Whoa Nellie Deli off Highway 120 near Lee Vining.
On Friday, he will meet Lone Pine area residents from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Lone Pine Film Museum along Highway 395 in Lone Pine. From 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. he will attend an open house at the Inyo County Fairgrounds in Bishop celebrating the General Land Office and Homestead Act anniversaries at the Surveyor’s exhibit near the Smokey Cabin.
On Saturday, he will take part in the Mule Days parade and subsequent awards ceremony.
Kenna was appointed California State Director in September, 2011. He served as the BLM’s Arizona State Director from January 2009 to September 2011. He previously served in numerous key agency positions, including Associate State Director in Oregon, Deputy Assistant Director for Resources and Planning in Washington, D.C., Budget Analyst for the Department of Interior in Washington, D.C., and Field Manager of the BLM’s Palm Springs Field Office in California.
“I’m looking forward to meeting our partners and the community in Bishop and experiencing Mule Days first hand,” Kenna said.
