Live Reptile Adventure Next Offering in Free Lecture Series

A close look at reptiles and amphibians will be featured in a free lecture titled "Live Reptile Adventure," on Tuesday, Jan. 31, at 7 p.m., at the Healy Senior Center, 456 Briceland Rd. in Redway.

Vanessa Blot, from the California Reptorium, will discuss the behaviors and habitats of these unique creatures, and will show a variety of animals.

"This is a great activity for families," said Rachel Sowards-Thompson, interpretive specialist at the Bureau of Land Management's (BLM) King Range National Conservation Area. "Vanessa will present fascinating information in a way that is easy to understand."

Blot, a graduate of Humboldt State University, founded the California Reporium in 2006.  The organization focuses on conservation and quality of life for reptiles and amphibians by promoting habitat conservation, education, scientific study and captive breeding.

To sign up, or for more information, call the BLM King Range Office, (707) 986-5415, or email a request to ca338@blm.gov.

The lecture is the third in a series of free talks offered through the winter by the BLM and the Lost Coast Interpretive Association.
