BLM Plans Pile Burning in Amador and Calaveras Counties |
||||||
|
Bureau of Land Management crews plan to start burning brush piles in the West Point, Skull Flat and Glencoe areas on March 13. “The burning will continue through the spring as weather conditions allow,” said Brian Mulhollen, battalion chief in the BLM’s Mother Lode Field Office. The forest understory was thinned last year to help protect homes in the area in the project carried out in coordination with the Amador-Calaveras Consensus Group. Crews from the Mother Lode Field Office and CALFIRE’s Tuolumne Calaveras Unit will burn the piles created by the thinning project. For more information, call the burning information hotline at (916) 941-3155 or Mulhollen at (916) 941-3118. |
