Public Invited to Review BLM's OHV Grant Applications
The public is invited to comment on applications the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has submitted to the California Department of Parks and Recreation, Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation (OHMVR) Division. The OHVMR grants and cooperative agreements program supports well-managed off-highway vehicle recreation in California by providing financial assistance to cities, counties, districts, federal agencies (including the BLM), state agencies, educational institutions, federally recognized Native American Tribes and nonprofit entities.
Preliminary applications will be available on the division website at www.ohv.parks.ca.gov for review and comment from Tuesday, March 6 through Monday, April 2. The website also will provide detailed instructions for accessing the preliminary application and submitting comments. Public comments must be submitted to both the OHMVR and to the appropriate BLM field office.
Barstow Field Office Applications
For the Barstow Field Office, comments can be mailed to BLM, ATTN: Brad Mastin, 2601 Barstow Road, Barstow, CA 92311, or e-mailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include “2012 OHMVR Comments” in the subject line.

El Centro Field Office Applications
The El Centro Field Office is requesting funds for law enforcement, emergency medical services, education, and operations and maintenance of OHV areas. Funds would be used in fiscal year 2013. An open house, to discuss the OHV grants, is scheduled for March 2, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Cahuilla Ranger Station on Gecko Road in the Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area.

Needles Field Office Applications

Palm Springs Field Office Applications
The Palm Springs-South Coast Field Office will seek comments through a public meeting March 22, 3 to 6 p.m., at its field office, 1201 Bird Center Dr., Palm Springs, CA 92262. Formal comments to the field office should be submitted to Beth Wood, OHV Grant Coordinator at email@example.com .
Ridgecrest Field Office Applications
The Ridgecrest Field Office will be requesting funds for law enforcement, desert restoration, and operations and maintenance of OHV recreation areas along with continued operations of the Jawbone Station Visitor Center.
